Development Forum

Olathe’s next Development Forum will be:

Thursday, March 11, 8:30-10:00 a.m., City Council Chambers.

The main topic will be the Comprehensive Plan update: The Comprehensive Plan documents the community's vision for how Olathe will grow and develop today and in the future, and influences policies that have a direct bearing on the quality of life that citizens enjoy in Olathe.

The Comprehensive Plan section of the Forum will begin with a thirty minute overview of the draft Plan.  The remainder of the Forum will be a workshop format that will provide an opportunity for participants to review the information and learn more about the Plan, ask questions, and provide critiques and suggestions.

The meeting will also include:

  • A brief presentation from Municipal Services on the South Cedar Creek Benefit District
  • Announcements of development ordinances that have been recently updated or are in the process of being updated and opportunities to provide input
  • Tips for expediting building permits and planning applications
  • Introductions of new or promoted staff and their roles (key contacts for our development customers)

All those involved in development in Olathe—developers, contractors, architects, engineers, and others—are invited and encouraged to attend.
Reserve the date--and if you have suggestions for topics, please talk with Steve Franks (971-8503).
