Ages 12 and up (for females only) FREE program This program represents a living legacy in honor of Ali Kemp. Ali, a 19-year-old Leawood resident, was murdered while working at an area residential pool in 2002. The goal of this program is to raise awareness and give women the self-protection skills needed to avoid becoming the victim of a violent crime. Participants learn basic techniques for thwarting an attack which could save their lives.

The Olathe Parks and Recreation Department is in the process of developing a new 10 year master plan for our parks and  recreation system. Community input is a valuable tool in this process and we’re asking for your help as we establish priorities for the future improvement of parks, recreation facilities, programs and services within the Olathe community. Please consider attending an upcoming focus group or community forum on Sept. 30, Oct. 1 & Oct. 3.
