Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will hold a service to honor those who fought in the American Civil War (both Union and Confederate).  The service will be held at the Civil War GAR Monument.  The service will begin at 10am.

Cemetery Tours

Come experience history brought to life by characters in the Olathe Memorial Cemetery.  Visit the graves of some of Olathe's founders and meet the people who rest here as they come alive to tell their stories.  You will meet members of the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm Historic Site, and other notable citizens.  Refreshments served. 

2012 dates and times:

We are having Spring Cemetery Tours on Sunday, April 22 at 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4:30pm. These are daytime tours and the cost is $3/adults and $2/children ages 5-11. This is a general historical tour with no characters presented. Tickets can be purchased at the Heritage Center beginning March 17. Usually these have not sold out, so tickets can also be purchased the day of the tours.

Fall cemetery tours are Thursday October 11, Friday October 12 and Saturday October 13. Tours are 7:00pm, 7:30pm, 8:00pm, and 8:30pm. These are character-based tours and tickets are required. Tickets are $5/adults, $4/children ages 5-11 and must be purchased at the Heritage Center beginning August 1, Wednesday - Saturday from 10a.m. - 4p.m. and Sundays from 12p.m. - 4p.m. Meet at Northview Elementary School, 905 N. Walker, across the street from the cemetery. Tours are limited to 30 participants. Thursday, Oct. 11 is Scout night where Girl and Boy Scouts can earn a Cemetery Tour Patch.
