Olathe Parks & Recreation will launch Olathe ActiveNet, a new registration system, in early June. New online system enhancements include the ability to create a wish list, sync activity schedules to your calendar, reserve shelters, and more. Existing Olathe Parks & Recreation users will receive an email from Olathe Parks & Recreation to update your online profile, login, and password. New users will find online registration instructions on the Parks & Recreation website when the system is live. »

The City of Olathe is seeking input to help create the vision for art in Olathe to produce a Public Art Master Plan. Join the public art workshop on Wednesday, June 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Olathe Community Center, 1205 E. Kansas City Road. Dinner will be provided. Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and the Olathe Memorial Cemetery will host the first Commemorate Olathe 1865 event on Saturday May, 2 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Mahaffie and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery. In 1865, the nation was mourning many deaths associated with the Civil War and the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Activities will be reflective of that period. »

Enjoy fresh produce, flowers, herbs, eggs and more when two Olathe Farmers’ Market locations open for the season on April 18. The Black Bob Market, 14500 W. 151st St. (located in east side parking lot near Field 1) and the Olathe Community Center Market, 1205 E Kansas City Road (located in the west parking lot) will operate each Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until produce is sold. »
