City of Olathe Thanksgiving Day Closures

City of Olathe offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23, for the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no trash and recycling curbside collection on Thanksgiving Day. Customers whose trash and recycling are collected on Thursday will be serviced on Friday; Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday. Residents are reminded to place carts at the curb by 8 a.m. Visit OlatheKS.org for more information.

The Olathe Public Libraries will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23.

Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 22. Mahaffie will be reopen Friday, Nov. 23, from 12 to 4 p.m.

Avoid the Black Friday crowds and experience a simpler time on a working 1860s Kansas farm. Enjoy blacksmith and cookstove demonstrations, house and farm building tours, historic games, and visits with the site animals. Learn about the history of Olathe in the Heritage Center museum. Don’t forget to take a ride on the stagecoach, weather and grounds conditions permitting. Admission is $7/adult and $5/child ages 5 to 11. Olathe residents receive $2 off admission.
