Celebrate Olathe and Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting on Nov. 30

Kick off the holiday season with the annual Celebrate Olathe and Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, Nov. 30, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Olathe Community Center (1205 E. Kansas City Rd.).

Join Mayor Michael Copeland and Fox 4 Meteorologist Joe Lauria will light the Mayor’s Christmas tree at 6:15 p.m. Then, enjoy an evening of music with the Olathe Civic Band, the Special Pops Choir, and choirs from Olathe Public Schools. Visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and Joey the Elf. Activities also include food trucks, face painting, a photo booth, and cookie decorating station. Free shuttle service will be available at Olathe North High School (600 E. Prairie St.).   • 6 p.m. - Doors open
  • 6:15 p.m. - Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting with Mayor Michael Copeland and special guest Joe Lauria, Fox 4 meteorologist
  • 6:30 p.m. - Music and activities throughout the Olathe Community Center
  • 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. - Pictures with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Joey the Elf in the lobby
  • 6:45 p.m. - Choir performances
    • 6:45 to 7 p.m. - Summit Trail Middle School
    • 7:05 to 7:20 p.m. - Tomahawk Elementary
    • 7:25 to 7:40 p.m. - Olathe North High School
    • 7:45 to 8 p.m. - Olathe Special Pops
