The City of Olathe welcomed more than 2,000 residents and visitors hunting for Easter eggs at Stagecoach Park on Friday, April 19, as part of Spring Celebrate Olathe.

More than 20,000 eggs, including 30 golden eggs filled with special prizes, were scattered throughout Stagecoach Park and the Olathe Community Center. Children and adults began eagerly searching for eggs as soon as Joey the Bunny sounded the horn indicating the egg hunt was underway.

In addition to the egg hunt, families and guests at Celebrate Olathe were able to ride goats, play in bounce houses, get their faces painted, and have their pictures taken in a photo booth. For those who worked up an appetite after gathering eggs, Casual Foodie, Kona Ice, and KC Popcorn food trucks were open for refreshments and treats.

The next Celebrate Olathe event will be in conjunction with the Olathe Live! concert series on Friday, July 12, at Lake Olathe from 6 to 10 p.m. More details can be found at OlatheKS.org/CelebrateOlathe. The first Olathe Live! concert series kicks off the summer season on Friday, June 14, in Frontier Park. Visit OlatheKS.org/OlatheLive for more information.
