Marina and Swimming Beach
The City of Olathe is pleased to announce the new swimming beach and marina at Lake Olathe Park (445 S. Ward Cliff Dr.) is now open! The marina opens at 10 a.m., and the beach opens at 11 a.m. Patrons must enter the newly opened portions of the park from the north off W. Santa Fe St. The Ward Cliff Dr. entrance off W. Dennis Ave. at the south end of Lake Olathe is not open as southern areas of the park remain closed. Please use the map for additional details including parking and traffic flow.
The marina features kayak, canoe, paddleboard, and pedal boat rentals. The swimming beach has a beach house with restrooms, changing rooms, and two outdoor showers. Visitors can enjoy the designated swimming area or try the new Aqua Park, a floating obstacle course with a trampoline, climbing wall, swing, and more.
Admission to the beach is $7 for Olathe Residents, $9 for non-residents, and $3 for individuals 62 and older. Admission is free for children two and under. Rentals at the marina are $5 per 30 minutes and admission to the Aqua Park is $10 per hour.
Beaver Shelter and Nature Playground
The Beaver Shelter area and new destination nature playground are also open. The nature playground includes elements from re-purposed trees, a small zip line, a meadow maze, a dome made from willows, and a splash creek.
Other areas of the park such as the Eagles Landing rental venue, waterfalls, and the sprayground are set to open in July.
