Provide comment on the new Johnson County Square in Olathe
Construction is underway on Johnson County’s new courthouse at the corner of Kansas Avenue and Santa Fe Street in downtown Olathe. When the new courthouse opens in January 2021, the old courthouse will be demolished, creating a new space known as Johnson County Square.
Feedback from the public and a steering committee resulted in a preferred concept for the square suitable for all ages. In order to develop it, the County reviewed input from the previous public meeting, comments from nearly 1,400 survey respondents, and feedback from Olathe businesses. Johnson County Government is now seeking further public input on the preferred concept.
Paving and pedestrian-level lighting will be included with the first phase of programming for the site. Take the online survey to review the preferred concept and provide comments through Saturday, Feb. 29, on element(s) that are most important to include in the first phase.Visit JoCoGov.org to view design concepts and learn more about the project.
