The City of Olathe is excited to announce plans for re-opening the Olathe Community Center, designated outdoor pools, and the Beach at Lake Olathe.

Olathe Community Center

The Olathe Community Center plans to open its doors to members and the public no sooner than Monday, June 8. Hours will be Monday through Friday from 6 a.m to 7 p.m, Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The building will close from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays for cleaning and disinfecting. The natatorium and Child Watch will remain closed at this time.

The Olathe Community Center indoor pools will re-open beginning Monday, June 15.

Olathe Outdoor Pools

Olathe Parks & Rec will have a limited outdoor pool season by opening Black Bob Bay and Mill Creek Pool to Olathe residents only. Frontier Pool and Oregon Trail Pool will not open this year.

Black Bob Bay will open Monday, June 8, at 12:30 p.m.; however, the lazy river and the bucket area will remain unavailable until further notice. Residents will be required to register and pay online for a two-hour block of time. To help encourage social distancing outside of family members, a maximum of 250 spots per two-hour time period will be available at this time.

Mill Creek Pool will be open weekdays beginning Monday, June 8, at 12:30 p.m. for Olathe Outdoor Summer Camps only. It will open to Olathe residents Friday through Sunday beginning June 12. Residents will also be required to register and pay online for a two-hour period. A maximum of 75 spots per two-hour time period will be available at this time.

Fees for the two-hour time period at each pool are $5 per person ages 3 to 61, and $3 per person for ages 62 and over. Children ages 2 and under are free, but they will still need to register to provide an accurate count. There will be no cash, check, or credit card entries accepted at the pool.

Registration for both pools opens Wednesday, June 3.

Both facilities will be cleaned and disinfected frequently throughout the day as well as between each two-hour session. Guests are asked to bring their own towels and chairs as those items will not be provided this season. Limited concessions will be available. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
