Post Date:11/02/2016 1:32 PM

Olathe has been selected as one of 16 new cities to participate in Bloomberg Philanthropies’ What Works Cities initiative.

Launched in April 2015, What Works Cities has developed a growing network of local municipal leaders, leading global experts and world-class practitioners who at no cost to cities, are sharing best practices for data and evidence-based governance to engage citizens, make government more effective and improve people’s lives.

What Works Cities will assist Olathe with advancing the following objectives:

  • Open data: Improving Olathe’s ability to make data more consumable and readily available for residents and departmental stakeholders
  • Performance and analytics: Advancing Olathe’s ability to deliver results for residents by strengthening their performance analytics systems and processes

What Works Cities has partnered with 55 U.S. cities, whose population is between 100,000 and 1 million residents, in 33 states. The initiative will partner with 100 cities through 2018.
