Olathe Public Library Programming

The Olathe Indian Creek Library (13511 S. Mur-Len Rd., Suite 129) and the Olathe Downtown Library (201 E. Park St.) are open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m. Please note that some of the teen programs are located at Teen Commons (16160 W. 135th St.).
- Meet & Eat Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Downtown and Indian Creek Libraries. Youth ages 18 and under can enjoy free meals on-site. Meals are sponsored by Harvesters Community Food Network, Whole Foods—Olathe, Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund, and Friends of the Library. Registration is not required.
Storytime in the Parks on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. at Frontier Park ( 15501 W. Indian Creek Pkwy.) and Millcreek Park (320 E. Poplar St.). Bring a blanket and enjoy 30 minutes of stories, songs, and finger plays. Stories will be geared toward kids ages 3 to 5, but all are welcome. Registration is not required.
Free Community Lunch for all ages on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Downtown and Indian Creek Libraries. Menus will vary week to week. Meals are provided through donations, grants, and local restaurants, and are presented in part by the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund and Whole Foods-Olathe. Registration is not required.
Grant Peeples: Guitar-Slinging Poet on Thursday, July 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Indian Creek Library. Singer, songwriter, and folk guitarist Grant Peeples is known for his sharp socio-political tunes, raucous humor, and heart-gigging ballads. His lyrics can be ruthless, containing both sweeping indictments and hope. Parental discretion is advised. Registration is not required.
