Indian Creek Trail from Arrowhead Park to Sheridan Drive is closed until fall 2016 as part of the Indian Creek Flood Control Project. As part of the project, the Indian Creek stream will be realigned to allow water to flow more efficiently through the stream, assisting with flood control during storm events Please follow the posted detour signs during construction, we apologize for any inconvenience. »

Join the Olathe Community Garden Partnership for the annual winter Community Garden Workshop from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan 23. The morning event will feature speakers from around the region who will discuss growing fruits and vegetables successfully at home. The City of Olathe is seeking volunteers for the Snow Brigade. The program matches elderly and disabled Olathe residents with volunteers who assist with snow removal from driveways and sidewalks when Olathe experiences a storm that produces two or more inches of snow. All individual volunteers must complete a volunteer application and undergo a background check before assignments are made. The program needs more than 60 volunteers to assist those in need this winter season. Interested volunteers are encouraged to visit Volunteer Opportunities. »

A public meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Meadow Lane Elementary for input on the development of the Meadow Lane Trail. The trail will run from Stratton Oaks subdivision to Ridgeview Road, connecting with the Johnson County Gary Haller Trail. This meeting will cover the design and construction schedule and allow for attendees to give their input on the development. »
