July 4th Fireworks
Thursday, July 4 | Approx. 9:45 p.m. | College Boulevard Activity Complex (CBAC)

Parking will be available at:

  • Olathe Northwest High School -- 21300 College Boulevard
  • Meadow Lane Elementary -- 21880 College Boulevard
  • College Boulevard Activity Complex -- 11031 S. Valley Parkway

Restrooms will be available throughout CBAC and in the Meadow Lane Elementary and Olathe Northwest High School parking lots.

Prairie Trail Middle School, as well as CBAC athletic fields, stadium stands, and concession areas will not be accessible during this event.

Tailgating is permitted at Olathe District Schools facilities; however, fireworks, open flames, alcohol and pets are prohibited.

Spectators are encouraged to arrive early and be prepared for high traffic volumes.

NEW THIS YEAR!! The City of Olathe, through a partnership with J&M Displays, will provide an iPhone and Android app allowing users to hear music in sync with the fireworks show. Download the J&M Displays app from either app store for details.

1860s Independence Day Celebration

Independence Day in the 1860s was the biggest holiday of the year! Take a stagecoach ride, see what is cooking on the cookstove and meet Uncle Sam! For more details visit Mahaffie.org.

Family Fun Nights - Fireworks: 1860s Style
Thursday, July 11 | 6 to 10 p.m. | Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm

Visitors of all ages are welcome to bring their picnics, blankets, and chairs to enjoy this all-American celebration! Admission is FREE!

Family Fun Night activities include: 1860s living history such as visiting the Mahaffie house, Agricultural Heritage Livestock Barn, cookstove demonstrations and stagecoach rides.

A concert by the Olathe Civic Band will begin at 7:30 p.m., and will be followed by music from the Gum Springs Serenaders at 8:30 p.m. A Reading of the Declaration of Independence and a cannon firing around 9:20 p.m. will signal the start of the 1860s style Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Complete details can be found at Mahaffie.org.

*Spectators must be on the Mahaffie grounds to view these ground based fireworks. These are set display pieces with flares outlining images such as the American Flag. These fireworks are not aerial fireworks.

Olathe Live! is back with Liverpool and special guest Brody Buster's One Man Band for a free night of fun for the whole family! Arrive early to grab your favorite spot. Grab a bite to eat from local food vendors then enjoy the music!
