In March 2019, 66 competition teams—including 33 from Olathe—will fill Stagecoach Park with award-winning barbecue in the inaugural Qlathe BBQ Championship presented by The Kansas City BBQ Store and American Barbecue Systems.

The Qlathe BBQ event is free and open to the public, with festivities kicking off Friday afternoon as Skid Roadie of 101 the Fox broadcasts live from 3 to 7 p.m. The 101 the Fox Big FOOT Monster Truck and Foxzilla 30’ inflatable will be on display.

Spectators can watch the Qlathe Cornhole Championship, presented by GrassPad, at 6 p.m on Friday, March 15, or enjoy the entertainment tent where numerous televisions will feature postseason college basketball action and guests can purchase food and beverages provided by BBs Bar & Grill.

Parking will be available at Olathe North High School (600 E. Prairie St.). A free shuttle will run on Friday from 5 to 10:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Qlathe Cornhole Championship presented by Grass Pad Olathe

Friday, March 15, 2019 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Everyone's favorite tailgate activity is coming to the Qlathe BBQ Championship. The 16-team cornhole tournament on the "Great Lawn" located behind the Olathe Community Center.

Check-in starts at 5:15 p.m., with the tournament starting at 6 p.m.

Cost of entry is $20 per teams of 2 players. There will be a cash prize. Participants must be 18 and older.

The March Madness basketball games will be on TV, and beer and alcohol can be purchased in the beer garden for attendees ages 21 and older.
