The Street Sweeping Program removes debris, chemicals, and yard waste from City streets to:
- Prevent flooding,
- Prevent storm system backups,
- Keep contaminants from polluting the creeks and streams.
The City operates three sweepers year round.
- The night-sweeping operation concentrates on main arterial streets, collector streets and parking lots.
- The day-sweeping operation concentrates on residential streets and requests for service.
Main arterial and collector streets are swept on a continuous monthly schedule.
Residential streets are swept three times each year.
Parking lots are swept on a bi-monthly rotation.
Ball Parks are swept two times each year in March and September.
Bike Lanes are swept weekly.
