On Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8, the BNSF railroad crossings at Dennis, Elm, Mulberry, and Harold Streets will be closed beginning around 6 a.m. for routine track maintenance by BNSF. The railroad crossings will open following completion of maintenance. Message boards and detour signs will be posted during this time to inform drivers of alternative routes.
BNSF is also tentatively scheduled to close these railroad crossings again on October 16-18. Once this schedule is finalized, the City will provide further information.
Although these railroad crossings are designated as Quiet Zones, please note that trains are required to blow their horns during maintenance activities.
For additional information regarding status of the closings, please call Road Safe at (316) 778-2112.
